Terms of Service (TOS) for Bridgit Social

Bridgit Social - Terms of Use

Updated: 03/27/2025

Key Definitions:

For the purposes of this document, the following terms shall be defined as follows:

Application: Refers to the mobile application known as Bridgit Social, available for download on the Apple App Store.

Bridgit Group LLC: The legal entity under which Bridgit Social operates, incorporated in the State of New Jersey, United States.

Bridgit: Also referred to as “Bridge It!”, the term describes the purpose of the platform as a digital bridge facilitating spontaneous, goal-driven connections between Users, and bridging the gap between online engagement and in-person interaction.

Terms (TOU): Refers to these Terms of Use governing the use of the Application and related Services.

User: Any individual who has registered for an Account and utilizes any features or Services offered through the Application.

User Details: Information voluntarily provided by a User, including but not limited to interests, professional background, and preferences. Certain details, such as age and residential area, may be optionally concealed at the User’s discretion.

Geographical Position: The User’s location, which is recorded and regularly updated when the geolocation feature is enabled. A User’s geographical position is not shared with other Users unless the “Start Networking” feature is activated.

Start Networking: The initiation of a User’s networking experience within the Application. Upon activation, the User becomes visible to and can engage with other Users based on their availability and visibility settings, as defined during registration or as updated by the User.

Same Place Option: A feature that designates when two Users are located in the exact same physical place. This is recorded if the User enables geolocation and selects the specific place within the Application. The system then verifies that the User is physically present at the selected location, enabling other Users to confirm their presence.

Proximity/Search Within Walking Distance Option: A feature that identifies Users who are geographically close to one another—within walking distance—but not necessarily located at the exact same place.

Walking Distance: Defined as the maximum distance between two Users such that an in-person meeting can occur within approximately 10 minutes of walking. This distance is calculated as up to one mile in both densely populated and less dense areas.

Map: A feature that displays other Users located within the same physical area or within walking distance, once the “Start Networking” feature is enabled. The Map also presents general anonymized statistics regarding nearby Users.

Hide Profile: A User-initiated action indicating disinterest in another User’s profile. Once a profile is hidden, it will no longer appear on the other party’s Home screen. However, the hidden User remains anonymously reflected in Map statistics.

Mark to Meet: An action taken by a User to express interest in meeting another User. An optional note may be attached, specifying the meeting’s purpose, proposed location, or any initial message. This action notifies the recipient and makes their profile visible to the initiating User. The initiating User’s identity remains anonymous until mutual interest is confirmed. Upon mutual interest, a “Match” is formed, moving both Users’ profiles to the Matched page and enabling limited communication and profile visibility, as long as both remain within the proximity threshold.

Mark Notes: A limited communication function available after a Match has been established. Users may send brief messages, with only the most recent note from each side retained. Older notes are overwritten and not stored, although message logs may be retained temporarily for compliance or legal purposes. If a Match is not established and the other User exits the proximity area, the User may Archive or Unmark the other profile, after which full profile access is no longer available unless an in-person meeting is confirmed by both parties.

Connection: An interaction that results from mutual interest between two Users, allowing them to communicate within the Application.

Matches: After forming a Match, Users may either retain the connection—allowing continued communication—or Archive the profile. Archiving a profile mutes the User and prevents future messages from being received.

Ready to Meet: A feature allowing matched Users to notify each other of their readiness to meet in person. If one User changes location beyond the proximity threshold, the notification will expire, and profile visibility will be disabled unless both parties return to proximity.

Meeting Happened: Keep or Archive a Profile A confirmation feature allowing Users to acknowledge an in-person meeting through the Application. Users may then record private notes related to the meeting. Confirmed meetings move profiles from the Matched list to the Met In-Person list. Users retain the option to archive or restrict access to these connections.

Met In-Person: A section where profiles of Users who have confirmed in-person meetings are accessible. Users may review or edit notes, or choose to archive, block, or report the other User to limit further access or interaction.

Note After Meeting: A private note-taking feature allowing Users to record key takeaways or contact details after an in-person meeting. These notes are stored privately and are not shared with the other User.

Profile Photo: A mandatory image attached to a User’s profile, which must clearly display the User’s face. Non-face images are not permitted. Currently, no photo verification system is in place; the Application relies on Users’ good faith to upload accurate images.

Services: The collective suite of features and functionalities—both complimentary and paid—offered by Bridgit Social to facilitate in-person, real-time personal and professional connections.

Premium Membership: A subscription-based service granting Users access to advanced features and enhanced functionality within the Application.

Account: A registered User’s individual profile granting access to the Application and its Services. Each User is permitted to maintain only one active Account at any given time.
